Reimagining a coaching guide for the Badminton World Federation, turning a dense, text-first document into a clearer, more dynamic readable experience became the core of this redesign.

Digital + Print ready Guide
Working alongside another designer and collaborating closely with Coventry University, who developed the training content for BWF, we set out to make the material more approachable for coaches with little experience.
We focused on building structure, clarity, and momentum into each section, ensuring complex ideas felt digestible.
The redesigned guide introduces stronger hierarchy, custom illustrations, and an accessible colour system to create a smoother reading experience across both digital and print formats.
Our process began with exploring how badminton could be visually reinterpreted for new coaches.
We developed moodboards, tested colour palettes and typography, and proposed multiple aesthetic directions ranging from retro to minimal.
We broke down the original guide to identify weak hierarchy and overcrowded pages, then rebuilt layouts using composition grids to improve clarity and pace.
Through regular client reviews and feedback rounds, we refined diagrams, visual systems, and structure to create content that felt both instructional and engaging.
The original guide was functional but visually flat, relying heavily on text and minimal hierarchy, which could have made the experience feel overwhelming for the less experienced coaches.
Our redesigned version introduces clearer structure, motion-inspired graphics, and custom court diagrams that bring the material to life.
We strengthened readability, improved contrast, and created layouts that guide the eye more intuitively.
The final interactive and print-ready versions offered a dramatically more accessible teaching tool, and the client responded positively to the increased clarity, energy, and ease of use.
